This is a bridge over a shallow river.
Or it appears that way.
In fact it is a bridge over an extinct river. Part of the River Turia in Valencia, which runs through the centre of the city, but after major flooding was diverted around the outside of the city, and the old riverbed has been converted into a park that goes almost all the way to the Mediterranean and allows pedestrians and cyclists to get around a lot of the city without the need for roads.
This post is in response to this week’s photo challenge.

Well done, this would work really well for a combined challenge with Photo Friday. I try to combine the challenges quite often. 🙂
Thanks, but where do I find Photo Friday? Maybe I can combine them as well 😀

Oh My – what a wonderful use of the old structure. It’s very beautiful and is a perfect entry for the challenge! Nicely done.
Thanks a lot Tina. The whole park is beautiful, and a great way to use the old river bed. I’d recommend it if you are ever in Spain.

That’s an awesome perspective!! I really like the atmosphere in Valencia; friendly people and beauty everywhere. Thanks for reminding me of that 🙂
No problem, I’m glad it raised some good memories. It is a lovely city.
It sure is 🙂
